Description
Vinemount West Falls is a 8m high ribbon talus cascade located in the Vinemount section of Stoney Creek, between the Bruce Trail and the railway tracks on the escarpment up above. The waterfall is fed by a stream that collects runoff from a small area of rural land to the south during periods of snow-melt or very heavy rainfall.
There is a noteworthy upper section of the falls where the creek emerges from under the railway tracks through a unique, circular culvert set within a rectangular portal. From there, the creek flows over a small 1.2m cascade before curving through a manmade channel to the crest of the main falls.
